La Promesa: Who wrote Catalina's letters?

After Catalina left La Promesa due to the schemes of Leocadia and the Baron of Valladares, her letters have arrived to the mansion. Gradually, it has begun to be revealed that these letters have not been written by Catalina herself. But who wrote them then?

Catalina's letters, which have no return address or postmark, have aroused suspicions in everyone. Adriano in particular does not understand how the letters ended up in the mansion. Everything indicates that someone close to Catalina is helping her from inside the house.

Leocadia is the first to be worried about the letters. She fears that her involvement in Catalina's disappearance will be revealed.

Jacobo decides to intervene, and helps Leocadia find out the truth about the mysterious letters.

Jacobo discovers that Martina, despite her objections, is behind Catalina's letters. Jacobo, Martina's fiancé, plans to tell Adriano what he has found out about Catalina's letters.

Why Martina did it?

Martina wrote letters in Catalina's name because she wanted to comfort Adriano in his grief and to keep hope alive after Catalina's disappearance. Adriano has been devastated by Catalina's departure, and the letters have been his only connection to his wife. Martina thought she was helping him, even though the act was a betrayal.

When the truth is revealed, Adriano feels it as a grave betrayal and becomes very angry with Martina. Hurt Adriano walks away from Martina. Martina tries to apologize, but the betrayal is too much for Adriano.

Martina also ends up arguing with her fiancé. As a result of the letter scandal, Martina decides to break off her engagement to Jacobo.
