Lorenzo knows Leocadia's big secret. That Leocadia murdered Jana. Captain De la Mata is blackmailing Leocadia with this information, and Leocadia's daughter Ángela has become a substitute victim. To punish Curro, whom he hates, Lorenzo demands to marry Ángela. Ángela is terrified of this forced marriage.
But then a plot was hatched to prevent Lorenzo and Angela's wedding. Jacobo's friend Beltrán, a very pleasant young man who became interested in Angela, arrived at the mansion just in time.
