When the butler Cristobal Ballesteros finds out that Maria and Carlo are expecting a child, he demands that they get married. He threatens to fire the couple.

Carlo takes money from Manuel

Carlo asks Manuel for money for the birth of the baby. Carlo acts behind Maria's back and does not listen to Maria's wishes. But in reality, Carlo uses the money he receives from Manuel to buy medicine for his sick brother.

Maria gets angry about this. She feels that Carlo is taking advantage of Manuel's kindness.
